This is probably the best food I had my 6 day stay in Baltimore.
My order:
Pan-Roasted Ora King Salmon
farro verde, cherry tomatoes, green beans, basil-mint pesto, pea tendrils
The experience:
Imagine spring in your mouth. The basil mint pesto was life changing. The mint was dredging while the pesto lulled you into an experience. Every time I come to Baltimore, I will be coming here. -

In the waning day of summer 2019, we dined at Tagliata in Baltimore, Maryland. As we had originally planned to go in early 2018, this was a long-awaited visit. A new home and a young toddler meant that we never actually made it until now. Unfortunately, over a year of anticipation ended with a disappointing experience.
The menu of chef Julian Marucci lush with his greatest hits from the wolf foreman empire. Our first two courses of charcuterie and pasta were wonderful - divine, even! The ambience of the outdoor area was both beautiful and comfortable, and we eased into a an enjoyable early Sunday supper prior to a show.
The service completely fell apart about halfway through our meal and it never recovered. We sat bewildered, twiddling our thumbs for well over 30 minutes without any food and never received an explanation, acknowledgment, or apology.
At one point, I was trying to decide on a glass of wine with my next (missing) dish. I made eye contact with a man who looks exactly like the family of owners (Atlas Restaurant Group). He steered me away from my two initial choices to something else. And even though I sat there with that glass for more than 20 minutes afterwards he (who stood a few yards away the entire time we were there) never once enquired 1). how was our evening proceeding, 2.) how I liked my glass of wine with my dish, (ehh) or 3). hey, i'm so sorry, something must be wrong, where is that dish you have been waiting for for the better part of an hour?
Our server finally went to check on my dish --AFTER I flagged him down and specifically asked him. He came out of the kitchen and nonchalantly said "oh it's ready now so we are all good.". .. That was the last we ever heard from him. The food likely went on the stove at that point for as long as it took our plate to arrive, and as long as this dish should have taken to prepare.
The server never dared to show his face again for the rest of the evening. None of the other staff we interacted with asked about the food, or anything, or acknowledged the situation.
We did not have time for any other savory dishes. We did not have time for coffee, dessert, or after-dinner drinks. I didn't even have time to go to the lounge to freshen up after the meal. We had to rush out, very upset over the situation. No one seem to care.
For a WAY TOO LARGE proportion of our time at Tagliata, we were uncomfortable, hungry, confused, wondering if we would make it to our concert afterwards... and flabbergasted at the behavior of the staff. Any warm and fuzzy feelings from earlier were soon forgotten.
We left in were total shock at the poor service, lack of responsiveness, or care of customer experience.
I later sent the details of my experience to the email address on the website. I received a reply from ownership with an apology and an offer of "a bottle of bubbles" -

Food 3 out of 5
Ambiance 5 out of 5
Service 2 out of 5
Cost 2 out of 5
I went to this restaurant with friends for a celebration.
The majority of the entrees are a la carte, as a group we ordered many different items just to be able to try everything. Overall I thought the food was pretty good but not amazing, it did not blow us away as expected to justify the cost. The presentation for some dishes were fancy while other dishes were very simple.
The service is where we had a major issue. We did have a big group of 9 people so maybe since the 20% gratuity was guaranteed we didn't get the normal fine dining treatment? We had one main server who was nice however we asked for salt and bread multiple times from three different people (twice from our server) and ended up finally getting it after we were almost done our starters. Also, the server was never available when we needed refills or had questions about the menu, but we could see her standing near the front chatting.
Another small issue we encountered was; one of the people in the group asked for a beer and was given a different beer than requested, when he asked for it to be corrected the server brushed him off and said it was correct. At a fine dining restaurant we had higher overall expectations of the service and experience.
The overall look and atmosphere of the restaurant was awesome, when you walk in it takes you away from the city feel.
Overall I would not recommend this restaurant as we could not justify the cost based on our experience with the service and food. -

Service, ambiance and the food/wine is great. I've sat outside on the patio and indoors. Definitely, a date place or a place to meet friends.
All three times, I've been here I've ordered the half portion of Squid Ink Pasta which is really tasty. Al dente pasta with a bit of crunch. Now it's the only dish I order from there. -

One of the best Italian food places in the area! My girlfriend and I went for my birthday and it did not disappoint! Walking in, it has a really nice environment. Upscale and classy without being stifling. The dress code isn't terribly strict either.
The staff was all amazing and our server was really helpful. She went over the wine list and individual entrees since we had lots of questions.
I ordered a mouth watering pasta dish that was unlike anything I'd had before. It was little pasta wrappers filled with polenta. My girlfriend got the squid ink pasta. Both were delicious and left us craving more even though we were full. Half portions options are nice, but I'd recommend full portion for the dish I got.
We both can't wait to go back and try more!
